Cape May Seashore Lines Cape May Courthouse NJ August 23 2004

This week was the last week of daily service for the summer season on the Cape May Seashore Lines and RDC-powered Train 404 The Mermaid has just arrived at Cape May Courthouse. Weekend service will continue until the end of the year.
The last round trip of the day starts as Train 405 The Sun Tan departs Cape May Courthouse bound for Cape May, seen here approaching West Shell Bay Avenue.
Cape May Seashore Lines has a number of RDC's stored on the line. Two former Boston and Maine units that had been converted to coaches sit on a siding off Reading Avenue.
The yard off Route 47 in Rio Grande is where the bulk of the equipment is stored, including the Lehigh Valley F7's, several more RDC's, a couple of cabooses and other passenger cars owned by United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey .
