| CSX Eastside Yard CSX Santa Claus Special (aka the Polar Local) December 12 2004 |
| CSX employees and their families in the Philadelphia and Wilmington areas were treated to a ride with Santa on December 12 2004. The trip originated at Eastside Yard in Philadelphia. The equipment, which arrived there Saturday night as train P921, was borrowed from MARC and consisted of two commuter trains coupled back to back: from south to north, GP40WH-2 68, Sumitomo coaches 7796, 7706, 7730 and cab car 7746, cab car 7758 and coaches 7733, 7714, 7792 and GP40WH-2 57.The train, symboled P922 ,departed north out of Eastside at 9:03 and reversed at RG to head south to Wilsmere Yard in Wilmington DE. There the train picked up the Wilmington families for the return trip to Philadelphia. Upon arrival at Eastside at 11:30, the Philadelphia families disembarked and the train ran back down to Wilmington for the final stop before deadheading back to Baltimore MD. |

Thanks go out to Larry, Tony, Bob, Kris Kringle and everybody else at CSX who helped put together this trip on such short notice. Many grateful children and parents will not soon forget this ride. |
