The first train 7162 departed Atlantic City at 10:02 and arrived in Philadelphia a little over one hour later, seen here coming off the Delair Bridge.

Due to a switch failure at Shore, CETC-6 turned the train on Track 1 rather than Track 5, and it continued up Track 1 to Holmes Interlocking where it was crossed over to Track 2.

The return trip 7163 departed NYC at 14:30 and a little over one hour later it was speeding through Cornwells Heights with NJT P40 4800 doing all the work.
Seems that they had a problem with ALP44 4405 which required it to be shutdown at Newark and dragged along for the ride.
Just a week before on the press preview train, 4405 speeds through Croydon as intended. The problem with 4405 was evidently corrected when the train arrived in Atlantic City.
