| During the month of May, they got down to serious business, trucking in parts daily as the structure was assembled starting at the north end. |

| A few times an hour, the trucks make the run across the tracks loaded, the crane hoisted the sections off the flatbed and the trucks returned with the empty trailers, parking them along Railroad Avenue. |

| The former site of the old power plant on the Madison side was used as a staging area. |

| By the end of the month, about half the garage was up ... |

| but soon they would pause on the main construction to address a more urgent matter: the bridge. |
