SEPTA Lansdale Parking Garage Lansdale PA November 19 2016
It has been a few months since the last update. Since July they have been working on the interior, exterior and the surrounding area, installing utilities, lighting, windows and this week they finally put up signs announcing to the world what the world mostly knew already: it's a garage.
In fact they installed signs at both ends.
They are currently working on what remains of the surface lot, which was scheduled to be completed in early November, now looking like early December.
On the Madison side, they have started to install the tower steps and have recently poured the deck for the bridge, but still no elevators. The current construction completion date for the entire project is sometime in the Winter of 2017, but probably later.
Meanwhile, back on Halloween, the Lansdale/Doylestown Line suffered a major power failure when one of the transformers in Lansdale failed. Most of the equipment dates back to the original electrification of the line by the Reading Company in the 1920's. It was scheduled for replacement this winter, but winter came early. The replacement of the second transformer, as well as trolley breakers, feeder breakers, substation switchgear and protective relay equipment is scheduled to be completed next summer.
