Old 100 Homecoming

"Old 100" Homecoming

We were invited by the Alger-Sullivan Historical Society of Century to participate in the “Old 100 Homecoming” September 27.  The society’s mission is to preserve the history of the Alger-Sullivan Lumber Company which operated in south Alabama and northwest Florida in the early 1900’s.  They were able to purchase the last known locomotive owned and operated by Alger-Sullivan, #100 a Baldwin 2-6-2, and return it to Century where over the next year it will be refurbished to running condition. Finding there wasn’t sufficient space to set up our modules the club decided to create a Lumbering Operation Layout just for the occasion. This layout will be on a semi-permanent loan to the museum.
Thanks to Glen Hall, Photographer extraordinaire. (have high $ cammer will travel)
