I was born in Moline and although I am away at school, my folks still live in the Quad Cities, just south of Moline in Coal Valley and I come home frequently. I spent grades 2-6 at Earl Hansen Elementry School
in Rock Island adjacent to the IAIS Milan Branch. Just about every day at recess I would see the IAIS SW1200 # 250 trundle to Milan and back with a handful of cars and immediately fell in love with the Iowa Interstate and especially
the 250. I graduated from Rock Island High School in June of 2003 and spent 4 semesters at Blackhawk College here in Moline in their Pre-Engineering program. I'm now attending classes at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL to
finish up my degree in Electrical Engineering. During the summer I work for MidAmerican Energy as an intern in the Gas Department. My job involves Cathodic Protection and testing various "test points" throughout my assigned area which
has been Davenport. Needless to say, I've learned my way around the Quad City Area very well!
Ever since I've been able to drive, I've paid special attention to the Iowa Interstate while keeping tabs on the other players here in the Quad Cities (IMRL now ICE and BNSF). I know my way
around the Quad City area quite well and I thought I'd share my knowledge with you. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to shoot me an email to
trainboy03@mchsi.com and I'll try my best to answer them.
While trackside look out for a guy driving a 1995 red Ford Ranger with a Canon EOS 20D around his neck and a handheld digital Canon PowerShot A610 nearby
and say hello.
