The Ae 4/7 back in service!

The scoop of the year:
The Ae 4/7s are back in service !

(NO, It's not a joke!)

The 15th of February 2007, brake measurement circulations took place on the line Winterthur - Romanshorn for the both Ae 4/7 10950 and 11010. DThey are intended to haul oil trains for Rail 4 Chem (R4C) between Basel and Niederglatt, Cornaux or Bettwiesen.

Bith engines have been taken over by Classic Rail when the all serie was stored. They belong the "Sècheron" subserie, with MU equipment, and will be fitted with the ZUB train protection system (in addition to Signum).

Other actors of this memorable day: The 2 Re 416.627-8 (red) and Re 416.628-6 (green) of the Mittelthurgaubahn, former SBB Re 4/4'.

I would like to thank here the colleagues Reinhard Reiss and Walter Herzog. Without their informations and their big help, much of the pictures of this page would not have been possible.
