The Cargotram
A little local speciality of Dresden: The "CarGoTram", goods tramway transportimg spare parts for the automotive industry from the yard of Dresden-Friedrichstadt to the Volkswagen factory "Gläserne Manufaktur" ("glass factory") located middle in the town, at Strassburger Platz.

Seilschwebebahn / Standseilbahn
(Rope monorail / Rope railway)
The "Seilschwebebahn" is worldwide unique. It is a suspended rope railway system Langer (same principe like the well known Wuppertal monorail). The line is 274m long between the stations located at Körnerplatz and at Oberloschwitz.

The "Standseilbahn" is a more conventional cable car, between its lower station also located at Körnerplatz, at around 100m of the lower station of the Seilschwebebahn, and the upper station "Weisser Hirsch" ("White deer")

Parkeisenbahn
A remain of the former east Germany remains: the "Parkeisenbahn" ("Garden railway"), located in the "Grosser Garten" pakr middle in the city center. It is the former "Pioniereisenbahn" (Pionnier's railway), miniature railway in approx. 1/3 scale, on which all works (excepted train driving) are made by children. This "hobby" is also oftly the beginning of a later career by the "real" railways..

Bad Schandau / Kirnitzschtalbahn
The Kirnitzschtalbahn is a tramway linking the par of Bad Schandau to Lichetnheiner Wasserfall, a romantic location with restaurant and an artificial waterfall triggered each half hour (more or less the same function like a water closet...)

 A quite particular (but funny) mix: Special steam train from Löbau, Dresden-Neustadt and Radebeul to the railway museum in the former depot of Chemnitz-Hilbertsdorf (now owned by the Sächsicher Eisenbahnmuseum, saxony railway museum). A beautiful steam engine ahead (the superb 52.8080-5) "western" ambiance in the coaches, "square dance" on the platforms, and "country" concert in the depot!
