Cette page a pour but de donner un apercu pays par pays des règlementations et usages concernant la photographie ferroviaire, et principalement d'indiquer les pays dans lesquels on peut photographier les trains et installations ferroviaires sans crainte, ceux ou il vaut mieux se méfier, et ceux qu'il vaut vraiment mieux éviter.

Les informations sont données soit sur la base soit de renseignements officiels donnés par les administrations des pays concernés, soit sur la base de rapports et témoignage d'amateurs photographes décrivant leurs expériences sur place.

Il est à noter que:

Toutes ces informations sont bien entendu données à titre purement indicatif et sans aucune garantie.
Le webmestre décline expressément toute responsabilité en cas de problèmes avec les autorités de quelque pays ou administration que ce soit.
Même si la photographie est autorisée dans un pays, il existe malgré cela souvent certains motifs qu'il est interdit de photographier, par exemple: Installations militaires, bâtiments officiels, aéroports, cibles potentielles d'attentats, etc. En cas de doute, renseignez-vous toujours avant de photographier!
Les gares-frontière sont souvent aussi des endroits "sensibles", surtout si l'un des pays en contact a une reglementation ou des habitudes restrictives à l'égard de la photographie. Toujours partir du principe que c'est la plus restrictive des règlementations qui s'applique (même si la gare se situe sur le territoire de l'autre état), et impérativement se renseigner sur place avant de photographier!

Diese Seite hat zur Zweck, ein weltweiter Überblick über die verschiedene Reglemente und Bräuche über Eisenbahn-Fotographie, und vor allem zu zeigen, in welche Länder Eisenbahnen problemlos fotographiert werden können, wo man lieber vorsichtig sein soll, und wo man unbedingt darauf verzichten muss.

Diese Informationen basieren entweder auf offizielle Auskünfte der verschiedene Bahngesellschaften oder auf Reiseberichte und persönliche Infos von Amateurfotographen, die mit ihre Erfahrungen geschildert haben.

Der Webmaster weist jede Verantwortlichkeit strikte zurück im Falle von jegliche Problemen mit Behörden oder Administrationen.
Auch in Länder, wo die Fotographie grundsätzlich erlaubt ist, gibt es auch häufig gewisse Motive, die mit ein Fotographieverbot belegt sind, z.B: Militäranlagen, Staatsgebäuden, Flughäfen, alle potenzielle Zielscheiben für Attentate, usw. Bei Unklarheiten, bitte sich zuerst erkundigen!
Grenzbahnhöfe sint auch häufig "sensible" Bereiche, besonders falls ein der angrenzende Staaten restriktive Gesetze oder Gewohnheiten gegenüber Fotographie haben. Immer davon ausgehen, dass die restriktivste der beiden Reglementierung gilt (auch wenn sich der Bahnhof auf das Staatsgebiet der anderen Staates befindet), und unbedingt sich vor den Fotographieren vorerst erkundigen!

This page has the target to give informations, country by country, over the reglementations and habits about railway photography, and to indicate in which countries the railway photography is allowed, where the situation is questionnable, and where you should better forget it.

These informations are based either on official infos from the local administrations or on reports and indications of railway photographers descriving their own experiences.

Please note:

All these informations are strictly indicative, and given without any warranty.
The webmaster rejects strictly any responsability in case of any problems with local authorities or administrations.
Even if railway photography is basically allowed in a country, there are oftly some objects who are forbidden to picture, for example: Military installations, official buildings, airports, potential targets for bombings. In case of doubts, always ask first!
Border stations may also oftly be "sensitive" areas, in particular if one on the neighbouring countries has restrictive laws or habits about photography. Always suppose that the most restrictive of the country laws apply (even if the station is on the other country's territory), and ask first!

Australie	Autorisation nécéssaire sur les lignes exploitées par Connex: voir http://www.connexmelbourne.com.au/help_film/index.asp (en anglais) D'apres les commentaires de groupes de discussion, il semblerait que les droits de photographier soient de plus en plus restreints en Australie (pas uniquement en ce qui concerne les chemins de fer!), particulièrement dans la région de Melbourne.
Bosnie	Autorisation indispensable, elle peut être demandée aux directions régionales de Tuzla et Sarajevo D'apres un amateur qui m'a communiqué ses expériences, aucun problème sur le terrain.
Cameroun	La photographie des trains et installations ferroviaires est interdite. Voir la page Camrail
Corée du Nord	La photographie ferroviaire est basiquement autorisée, mais: Les déplacement touristiques ou autres hors de la capitale Pyongyang se font toujours avec un "accompagnateur" officiel, qui peut parfaitement vous interdire de photographier. Il est interdit de photographier les trains officiels et militaires. L'usage des téléphones portables (avec ou sans appareil photo intégré!) est strictement interdit: Ils sont scellés à l'entrée du pays et ne peuvent être réouvert qu'apres avoir quitté le territoire. Les équipements photo ayant l'air trop "professionnels" peuvent subir le même sort.
Croatie	Autorisation indispensable Elle peut être demandée à l'adresse putnicki.prijevoz-informacije@hznet.hr, en précisant vos noms, adresse, lieux et dates ou vous désirez photographier. Il est interdit de photographier dans les dépots et ateliers. En général, bonne tolérance. Se méfier dans les gares-frontières.
Chine	Dans les gares principales, l'accès aux quais n'est possible que pour monter dans les trains ou en descendre, il n'est donc à priori pas possible d'y prendre des photos. En ligne par contre, il ne semble pas y avoir de problèmes.
Egypte	La photographie des trains et installations ferroviaires est interdite (mais il semble y avoir une certaine tolérance en pratique) Les déplacements en dehors des villes ne sont possibles qu'en convoi avec une escorte armée de la police. Il est donc en pratique impossible de prendre des photos en ligne En pratique, la photographie semble tolérée jusqu'à un certain point (ou l'on vous demandera "poliment" d'arrèter). Eviter de trop exhiber votre matériel.
Espagne	Depuis le 1er Avril 2008, l'autorisation de photographier n'est officiellement plus nécéssaire. D'après les indications sur le site de l'ADIF (Administration des installations ferroviaires), il est juste nécéssaire d'être en possession d'un titre de transport pour accéder aux quais. Vu la pratique très restrictive en vigueur jusqu'à l'année dernière, il est prudent de se signaler aupres de personnel de la gare ou des vigiles. Si vous avez encore une autorisation (celles valables 2 ans, délivrées début 2008), prenez-la avec vous, ca peut toujours être utile. Attention: J'ai récemment reçu plusieurs e-mails d'amateurs ayant été interceptés par la police ou la Guardia Civil en dehors de gares. Ceux-ci étaient soit d'avis que la photographie est toujours strictement interdite, soit soupçonnaient le photographe de préparer un acte terroriste. France	Lien: http://www.dolphin2001.net/photo/legis/droit/#gares Voir aussi la Revue de presse La photographie est en principe autorisée (ou "tolérée") à condition de n'utiliser ni flash ni trépied sur les quais de gare, mais: Les vagues d'attentats terroristes ont provoqué la mise en place du plan "Vigipirate". Ce plan comporte plusieurs niveaux, dont les plus élevés prévoient une interdiction de photographier les gares, bâtiments publics et installations pouvant servir de cible. L'application du plan Vigipirate est décidée au niveau des préfectures, le niveau peut donc varier d'une région à l'autre. Il est fortement recommandé de se renseigner auprès de la gare du lieu ou l'on désire photographier. D'après de nombreux messages postés sur divers forums, la SUGE (Surveillance Générale, service de surveillance interne de la SNCF) aurait de plus en plus tendance à interpeller des photographes pour leur interdire de photographier sous prétexte d'"espionnage industriel" (??) ou de plan Vigipirate, ceci aussi en dehors des emprises ferroviaires. Évitez de photographier dans les grandes gares parisiennes, aussi à cause des problèmes de délinquance (surtout Paris-Nord et St.Lazare) RATP (Paris): La prise de vues est strictement interdite sans autorisation même dans le cadre amateur (métro principalement)

Grèce	La photographie est en principe autorisée, mais: - Se méfier des sociétés de gardiennage privées! - La photographie est strictement interdite dans les gares-frontières
Inde	Situation apparemment assez confuse... Voir la page http://www.irfca.org/faq/faq-railfan.html#photo (en anglais)
Iran	La photographie semble bien tolérée en pratique. Toujours demander au personnel de gare ou à la police présente avant de photographier!
Italie	Il est nécéssaire de se signaler auprès de la police ferroviaire (poste dans chaque gare de grande ou moyenne importance) avant de photographier. N'utiliser ni flash ni trépied.
Japon	Evitez de franchir les limites imposées au public (ex: lignes blanches au bord des quais, etc)
Kosovo	Aucun problème pour photographier, mais (en règle générale), ne parlez pas en serbo-croate!
Maroc	Il est STRICTEMENT interdit de photographier le train royal. Mis à part cela, la photographie ferroviaire à partir des emprises ouvertes au public est autorisée.Il est recommandé de contacter la direction générale de l'ONCF afin d'avoir un papier officiel en mains, au cas ou certains fonctionnaires seraient trop zélés.
Montenegro	Pas d'information officielle si la photo est oficiellement autorisée ou non, mais en pratique la police considère que non. Eviter particulièrement les gares-frontière.
Pologne	Photographie autorisée et sans problème , à l'exception de la ligne à voie large LHS (Linia Hutnicza Szerokotorowa) de Sławków (entre Krakow et Katowice) à Przejście graniczne (près de Hrubieszów, frontière ukrainienne): Cette ligne est exploitée par une compagnie russe, et les dépots sont surveillés par des vigiles privés (armés!): À éviter!
Russie	Eviter de photographier toute personne portant un uniforme!
Serbie	Eviter strictement les gares-frontière. Toujours demander avant de photographier, surtout à Belgrade et environs. La police a une attitude tres répressive en général. (D'apres divers messages reçus, il semblerait néanmoins que la police ait tendance à se montrer plus tolérante)
Suisse	Pas de restrictions pour les prises de vues privées. Seules les prises de vue à fins commerciales nécéssitent une autorisation, voir les détails ici: http://mct.sbb.ch/mct/fr/konzern_dienstleistungen/konzern_film-fotoaufnahmen.htm
Tibet	Dans les gares principales, l'accès aux quais n'est possible que pour monter dans les trains ou en descendre, il n'est donc à priori pas possible d'y prendre des photos. En ligne par contre, il ne semble pas y avoir de problèmes.
USA	La photographie est en théorie autorisée, mais depuis les attentats du 11 Septembre la police a en général fort tendance à être très soupconneuse envers les photographes. Dans les gares principales, l'accès aux quais n'est possible que pour monter dans les trains ou en descendre, il n'est donc à priori pas possible d'y prendre des photos.

Ägypten	Fotographieren der Züge und Eisenbahnanlagen ist verboten (aber in der Praxis gibt es scheinbar eine gewisse Toleranz) Aus Sicherheitsgründen sind Fahrten ausserhalb der Städte nur in Konvoi mit eine bewaffnete Polizeieskorte erlaubt. Streckenfotos sind damit faktisch unmöglich In der Praxis scheint Fotographie bis zu ein gewissser Punkt toleriert (und dann wird man euch höflich auffordern, damit aufzuhören). Haltet auch ihre Kamera nicht auffällig.
Australien	Erlaubnis nötig auf Strecken, die von Connex betrieben sind: siehe http://www.connexmelbourne.com.au/help_film/index.asp (in Englisch). Nach Kommentare aus australische Newsgroups, werden die Fotographierechte (nicht nur im Bahnbereich) in Australien zunehmend eingeschränkt, besonders im Raum Melbourne
Bosnien	Erlaubnis unbedingt nötig, es kann bei den Regionaldirektionen Tuzla und Sarajewo angefragt werden. Scheinbar gute Toleranz in der Praxis.
China	In den Hauptbahnhöfe ist der Zugang zu den Bahnsteigen nur zum ein- und Aussteigen erlaubt, fotographieren ist denn praktisch nicht möglich. Auf der Strecke gibt es hingegen scheinbar keine Probleme.

Frankreich	Link: http://www.dolphin2001.net/photo/legis/droit/#gares (in Französisch) Siehe auch die Revue de presse Fotographieren ist grundsätzlich erlaubt (oder "toleriert"), nur Stative und Blitzgeräte sond verboten, aber: Seit den Terroranschläge in Paris wurde der "Plan Vigipirate" eingesetzt. Dieser Plan hat mehrere Stufen, die höchsten davon beinhalten Fotographieverbote für Bahnhöfe, offizielle Gebäuden und potenzielle Ziele für Anschläge. Der Einsatz der Vigipirate-Plan wird regional geregelt, so kann die Stufe je nach Region varieren. Es ist empfohlen, sich jeweils beim Bahnhof zu erkündigen. Nach viele Meldungen auf Internetforums, würde die SUGE (Surveillance Générale, interner SNCF-Sicherheitsdienst) immer häufiger Fotographen ansprechen um ihnen ein Fotographieverbot wegen "Industriespionage"(??) oder der Vigipirate-Plan auszusprechen, dies auch ausserhalb des Bahngebietes. Fotographiert lieber nicht in den pariser Grossbahnhöfe, dies auch wegen der Kriminalität (vor allem in Paris-Nord und St.Lazare) RATP (Verkehrsbetriebe in Paris): Ohne Erlaubnis ist Fotographie strikt verboten, auch für rein private Zwecke. Griechenland	Die Fotographie ist grundsätzlich erlaubt, aber: - Vorsicht vor private Bewachungsfirmen! - In den Grenzbahnhöfe ist Fotographieren strikte verboten

Iran	Bahnfotographie scheint gut toleriert, aber bevor man fotographiert, immer beim Bahnhofpersonal oder (wenn anwesend) der (Bahn-) Polizei anfragen!
Italien	Man muss sich bei der Bahnpolizei melden (Polizeiposten in jeder Bahnhof ab mittlere Grösse). Stative und Blitz sind verboten.
Kamerun	Fotographieren der Züge und Eisenbahnanlagen ist verboten. Siehe die Seite Camrail
Kosovo	Fotographieren problemlos, aber allgemein: Nicht Serbokroatisch sprechen!
Kroatien	Erlaubnis nötig Es kann unter folgende Adresse beantragt werden: putnicki.prijevoz-informacije@hznet.hr. Nötigen Angaben: Name, Adresse, Orte und Daten wo sie fotographieren möchten. Es ist verboten, in den Depots und Werkstätten zu fotographieren. In der Praxis ist es scheinbar jetzt gut toleriert. Nur Vorsicht in den Grenzbahnhöfe!
Marokko	Es ist STRIKT verboten, den Königszug zu fotographieren. Sonst ist die Fotographie von Bahnen ab Stellen, die für den Publikum zugänglich sind, erlaubt. Es ist empfohlen, die Generaldirektion der ONCF zu kontaktieren, um ein offizieller Papier in der Hand zu haben, falls es übereifrige Beamten geben würde.
Montenegro	Keine offiziellen Infos ob die Fotographie erlaubt ist oder nicht, aber in der Praxis wird es von der Polizei als verboten betrachtet. Grenzbahnhöfe meiden!
Nordkorea	Eisenbahnfotographie ist grundsätzlich erlaubt, aber: Man darf sich ausserhalb der Hauptstadt Pyongyang nur mit ein offizieller "Begleiter" bewegen. Dieser kann das Fotographieren verbieten. Es ist verboten, Regierungs- und Militärzüge zu fotographieren. Mobiltelephone (mit und ohne Kamera!) sind strikte verboten, sie werden bei der Einreise versiegelt und dürfen erst nach der Abreise wieder ausgepackt werden. Das Gleiche kann auch bei zu "professionnell" aussehende Fotoausrüstungen passieren.
Polen	Fotographie erlaubt und problemlos , mit Ausnahme der Breitspurstrecke LHS (Linia Hutnicza Szerokotorowa) von Sławków (zwischen Krakow und Katowice) nach Przejście graniczne (bei Hrubieszów, Ukrainische Grenze): Diese Strecke wird von einer russischen Gesellschaft betrieben, und die Bahnbetriebswerke werden von bewaffnete private Sicherheitsleuten bewacht. Zu meiden!
Russland	Keine uniformierte Personen fotographieren!
Schweiz	Keine Einschränkungen für private Film- und Fotoaufnahmen. Nur bei kommerzielle Film- und Fotoaufnahmen ist ein Erlaubnis nötig, siehe hier: http://mct.sbb.ch/mct/konzern_dienstleistungen/konzern_film-fotoaufnahmen.htm
Serbien	Grenzbahnhöfe strikte meiden. Immer im Voraus fragen, besonders in Beograd und Umgebung. Die Polizei hat allgemein eine sehr restriktive Haltung. (Aus Meldungen sieht es aus, dass die Polizei allerdings viel toleranter geworden wäre)
Spanien	Seit den 1. April 2008 ist das Fotographiererlaubnis offiziell nicht mehr nötig. Nach den Angaben aud der Webseite der ADIF (Eisenbahnnetzbehörde), ist nur ein gültigen Fahrausweis nötig um auf den Bahnsteigen zu gelangen. Da aber der Praxis bis letzten Jahr sehr restriktiv war, ist es ratsam, sich beim Bahnhofpersonal oder den Wachen zu melden. Falls Sie noch eine Erlaubniskarte haben (die, die Anfang Jahr ausgestellt wurden, mit 2 Jahren Gültigkeit), dann nimmt die lieber mit. Achtung: Ich habe kürzlich mehrere e-mails von Amateure erhalten, die ausserhalb von Bahnhöfe von der Polizei oder der Guardia Civil angehalten wurden: Entweder betrachteten sie Bahnfotographie immer noch als strikte verboten, oder vermuteten Vorbereitungen für einen Terroranschlag. Bosnia	Authorisation is indispensable It can be asked for at the regional directions of Tuzla and Sarajewo. It looks that the photography gets actually well tolerated.

China	In the main stations, the access to the platforms is allowed only to get in or out of the trains, so it is practically not possible to take pictures. On the lineside, it looks that there are no problems.
Egypt	Photographying the trains and railway installations is forbidden (but it looks to be actually tolerated) It's not allowed to drive outside of the towns without a police escort. So, it's eventually impossible to take pictures on the line. Actually, photography is tolerated until a certain limit, and you will be "kindly" asked to stop it.

France	Link: http://www.dolphin2001.net/photo/legis/droit/#gares (in French) See also the Revue de presse Railway photography is basically allowed, only the use of flashlights and tripods are not allowed, but: Since the terrorist bombings in Paris, the french government ordered the "Vigipirate" anti-terrorism plan. This plan has several levels, twose the highest ones forbide the photography of stations, official buildings and all potential targets. The application of the Vigipirate plan is decided by the prefectures, so the level may vary from one region to the other one. It is strictly recommended to get informed at the station where you would like to photograph. Iran	Railway photography looks to be tolerated, but always ask the station personal or the (railway) police before photographying!
Italy	Present yourself at the railway police post (in each important or middle station) before you take pictures. The use of flashlights and tripods are not allowed.
Kosovo	No problems to photograph, but (in general): Don't speak serbo-croatian!
Montenegro	No official informations if photography is oficially allowed or not, but in practice the police considers that not. (From reports, it looks that the police is actually getting more tolerant)
Morocco	Photographying the king's train is STRICTLY forbidden. With this exception, photographying trains is allowed from places accessibles to the public . It is recommended to contact the general direction of the ONCF in order to hold an official paper, in case of too "consciencious" agents.
North Korea	Railway photography is basically allowed, but: Outside of the capital Pyongyang, you always must be accompagnated by an official "guide", who can forbide photography. It is strictly forbidden to photograph official and military trains. Mobile phones (with and without camera) are strictly forbidden: They are sealed when entering Korea, and they can be opened only after having left the country. Photographic equipments looking too "professional" may be sealed also.
Poland	Photography is allowed and without any problems , excepted the broad-gauge line LHS (Linia Hutnicza Szerokotorowa) from Sławków (between Krakow and Katowice) to Przejście graniczne (near Hrubieszów, ukrainian border): This line is exploited by a russian company, and the depots are guarded by armed private security guards. Avoid!
Russia	Don't photograph any person carrying an uniform!
Serbia	Strictly avoid the border stations. Always ask before photographying, particularely in Beograd and around. The police has generally a very restrictive behaviour. (But from reports, it looks that the police is actually getting more tolerant)
Spain	Since the 1st of April 2008, the photography authorisation card if officially no longer needed. From informations from the ADIF website, only a valid ticket is needed to access the platforms. Instead, as the habits were very restrictive until last year, better announce yourself at the station personal or the vigiles. If you still have an authorisation card (those issued begin of this year, with 2 years validity), better take it with you. Beware: I recently got several e-mails from railfans who have been arrested outside of stations by the police or the Guardia Civil. Those were either still considering railway photography as strictly forbidden, or were suspecting preparations for a terrorist attack. Switzerland	No restrictions for private photographying and filming. An authorisation is needed only for commercial-purpose filming and photographying, see here: http://mct.sbb.ch/mct/en/konzern_dienstleistungen/konzern_film-fotoaufnahmen.htm
Tibet	In the main stations, the access to the platforms is allowed only to get in or out of the trains, so it is practically not possible to take pictures there. On the lineside, it looks that there are no problems.
USA	The railway photography is theoretically allowed, but since the attentates of the 11th of September, the police is generally very suspicious to photographers.
