Night Photo Shoot.

On August 11 2001, a night photo session was held at Bridge 60 in Scranton, Penna.
Delaware Lackawanna Railroad celebrated the 100th anniversary of the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) and the upcoming 150th anniversary of the DL&W Railroad.
With the supervision of Steve Barry, Lumedyne lighting was provided by Frank Etzel, Kermit Geary Jr., Fred Jones, Alex Mayes, and John Tully.
I would like to thank Steve Barry of Railfan and Railroad Magazine, Carl Perelman of RailPace Magazine, and David Monte Verde and all the people at Genesee Valley Transportation Company for making this night shoot possible.

3 night images (time exposures) taken on Bridge 60, with available light.

2 night photo session images of DL&W SC # 426 taken on Bridge 60, with Lumedyne lighting. DL&W # 426 was built by EMC/GE in March 1935 and is rated at 600 HP. Compare the lighting differences in the 2 images.

3 night photo session images of a classic railroad over-under shot at Bridge 60. On top is DL&W # 426 with a short freight train. Below are DL&W RS-3 # 4118 and DL&W RS-3 # 4103. There are small differences of lighting and framing in each image. This extremely difficult over and under shot was done 5 times. This is one of the most dramatic night shots that I have ever seen.
