The Strasburg Special, a chartered Septa Excursion Train with ex-Reading FP7's # 902 & # 903 was sponsored by The Philadelphia and lancaster Chapters of The National Railway Historical Society on Saturday September 8, 2001. This was the first time that a train from Philadelphia Pa. has run directly to Strasburg Pa.
