As the number of railway books and publications continues to grow, so sadly does the
number of errors and misleading statements printed in them. In many cases (such as
captions to photographs) this seems sometimes to be simply because an author has copied
from an existing publication without checking the facts with a suitable primary source.
Here at RailWest we want to try and identify as many of these errors as
possible, in the hope of preventing them from circulating further. As these errors come to
our notice, then details and correcting information will be posted on this site and
indexed under 'Common Errors' as part of the main Subjects Index.
We hope that you will find this service useful. Please e-mail RailWest with details of any
such errors that come to your attention, together with the correct information and (if at
all possible) details of its source.
