A views of WELLS 'A' signal-box taken in the mid-1950s after the signal-box had been closed. Adjacent to the foot of the steps can be seen the 2-lever ground-frame installed to control access to the goods yard. In the foreground is the remnant of the former Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway line to Glastonbury. On the right of the picture in the distance can be seen the signal-box at Tucker Street station on the ex-Great Western Railway line to Yatton.
