mmid Maryland Midland

The Maryland Midland started out with humble beginnings as the operator
of a former PRR branch from Taneytown to Walkersville with a single whitcomb
center cab diesel.  MMID eventually took over the former Western Maryland
mainline from Highfield to Emory Grove and evolved into the sizable regional
it is today.

Maryland Midland purchased a trio of former BN SD-24's in the mid 1980's.  The engines
proved too heavy and were sold shortly after they arrived on the property.
