The Western Maryland was assigned 25 ex-C&O GP9s in 1976 after the
Chessie merger. These units were never given a full WM paint treatment,
but received a half-hearted WM relettering and retained their C&O numbers.
When repainted into the Chessie paint scheme they retained their C&O/WM
numbers.
