Built at Swindon in 1935 as number 4847, one of the 70 locomotives in the 0-4-2T 4800 class. Became 1447 under the 1946 GWR renumbering scheme. Withdrawn in 1964.

Smokebox number plates were fitted to GWR engines after 1948, following nationalisation of the main British railway companies.
