Central Wales Freight - The Postscript
As a postscript to the Central Wales freight on Bank Holiday Monday 29th May, 37372 and 37370 worked 6V75 the 09:12 Dee Marsh to Margam as far as Newport Alexandria Dock Jn. Yard before returning to Didcot. I traveled to Newport to witness the pair passing through and hopefully catch the light engine move back to Didcot.

The pair are seen on the approaches to Newport with the 6V75 Dee Marsh to
Alexandria Dock Jn.

37372 is seen sporting the trademark black diamonds in the headcode box,
still with the original glass in and not plated over like most other members of
the class.

37372 and 37370 arriving at Newport shocked quite a few of the local enthusiasts
as 37's of any sub-class are becoming rare in South Wales!

Possibly one of the rarest sights of the year the two pairs of 37/0's used on
the Central Wales freights were multi-ed up for the return to Didcot to take up
their more normal trip workings. All four were powering as they left Newport!

66020 CARDIFF CENTRAL
Just incase anyone was wondering what happened to 6V75 on arrival at Alexandria
Dock Jn. Yard (probably not), the train was taken forward to Margam by 66020,
seen here passing through Cardiff Central.
