Robert is the son of John and Mary Lockard, and possibly grandson to a Matthew Lockard (Lockhart), son of John Lockhart (Lockard). His brother Matthew is listed as the administrator of is estate in 1843. His estate was probated in New Castle County, Delaware, from 1845-1856. 1843 appears to be his year of death.
He inherited a sum of $140 from his father's 1824 will.
Robert appears in the 1830 census in Mill Creek Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware. The age groups aren't quite right -- Both Elizabeth and Rebecca would have been in the 15-20 age group, with none in the 10-15, with Elizabeth being 15 or 16 depending on the date of record.

5. Elizabeth Lockard (1) was born in Chester Co., Pa, on 2 Apr 1814. She married, 8 Mar 1838, Samuel McKeever, b. 9 May 1814, d. 21 Jun 1879 in Kennett Square. She died on 5 Apr 1879 in Kennett Square. She lived in London Grove (1840), East Nottingham (1850), and Lower Oxford (1860) townships, Chester Co, PA. They removed to Kennett Square about 1875. Letters from the five married siblings to their cousin, G.A. Chandler in 1890 confirm above dates. Samuel's 1879 Obituary and associated clippings spell the name four different ways for the same event: McKeever, McKeiver, MacKeever, MacKeiver. Elizabeth's funeral was on 9 Apr 1879 at Samuel's home in Kennett Square, Pa. See copy of Obit from the Oxford Press, 25 Jun 1879.
