The earliest provable related Yost in Blair County is one Carl Frederick Yost. Below is noted his descendant tree.
A recent survey of Grandview Cemetery, Logan Township, Blair County, has Bertha, 1859-1895, on the same stone as Frederick. (listed as Fredrick C., 1856-1930). This brings the question of whether the Hickey record is incorrect, or perhaps Bertha is just mentioned on Frederick's stone, and really buried at Fairview behind Altoona hospital. Three of their daughters are buried within 50 feet, two of them are within 10 feet.
Their Children (Surname Yost):
Bertha's obit lists the children as William, Louise, Harry, Barter, Charles and Lida. Lida is likely Lydia, and Barter is probably supposed to be Bertha. William I have no other reference for, and Elizabeth is not listed. Perhaps Elizabeth and Louise are the same person. Frederick is listed as Carl in the 1900 Census in Logan Township. The children are in the above order, which matches Bertha's 1895 Obit. The census also gives 1884 as the year Frederick came over from Germany.
Frederick married a Mary E. Aurandt on 16 November 1897, a record of which is at Vol 15, Page 12 of the Blair County Marriage records, as record #6912. Frederick gives his full name as Carl Frederick Yost, but signed his name C. Frederick Yost, and the date of death of previous spouse matches Bertha's death date. This Mary is with Frederick and the children in 1900, at age 23, showing having had one child, and one child still living, but none of the six children are hers, and she did not have a previous marraige.
Son Harry's 1958 obit mentions a surviving stepsister. a Mercenia Green of Altoona (Such a name shows up in SSDI, as born 23 Jan 1895, d. April 1983, place of death Altoona ). This could explain the census claim to Nary having had a child, but not by Frederick.
Unsolved mystery:
She married Edward Henry Keyes on 1 Feb 1916, and resided in Altoona at her brother Harry's death in 1958.

She died in Altoona, 1 June 1971. She resided in Juniata Gap at that time. Her obit has her as Elizabeth M. Keyes, while her marriage record is signed as Elizabeth L. Yost.

The questions of her birth year are unresolved. Her stone at Grandview would seem to indicate 1884, while Altoona birth records indicate 1886. Census records (1900) place her birth as Dec 1887.
He married (2) Lola Grace (McGee) Clare in 1939. She was born on Feb 17, 1892. Lola died 29 Aug 1970.
Children by Esther (Surname Yost):
A copy of Esther and Harry's marriage record is on microfilm at the Blair County Genealogical Societyx in Hollidaysburg, Pa. (Vol 33, p 478) This record gives Harry's occupation as a stonemason. He later worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Harry, Esther and family resided at 1915 Fifth Street in 1920, alongside his sister, Bertha Grannas and her family. (Census: 1920: City of Altoona, Blair Co. Vol 66, E.D. 78, Sheet 2, Line 96)
A copy of Lola and Harry's marriage record is on microfilm at the Blair County Genealogical Society in Hollidaysburg, Pa. (Vol 48, p 124) Harry died on 19 February, 1958 in Altoona. He is buried at the Alto-Reste Cemetery.

Bertha, Herman and family resided at 1915 Fifth Street in 1920, alongside her brother, Harry Yost and his family. ( 1920: City of Altoona, Blair Co. Vol 66, E.D. 78, Sheet 2, Line 90)
She is listed as living in Williamsburg at her brother Harry's 1958 death. Her stone at Grandview indicates birth of 1891, which agrees with the 1900 census (Mar 1891) but the 1920 census has her age 26, which supports 1894
Stone at Grandview has death in 1970.
He resided in Altoona at his brother Harry's death in 1958, and in Warfordsburg at sister Elizabeth's death in 1971.
There is suggestion that he married Gertrude Logan, and they had a child stillborn in Sept 1922. There is a record of such a burial at the Lafferty & Tobias Funeral Home, with the burial taking place at Grandview Cemetery.
Based on his being in Warfordsburg in 1971, there is an obit for a Gertie Yost, wife of a Charles R. Yost of Warfordsburg, in January 1972 Altoona Mirror, with Gertie a daughter of William Thomas Divelbiss and Martha Hiles. Charles survived her, and a son, William C. Yost, was residing in Brown's Mills, NJ. She was interred at the Cedar Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg. Charles R. may also be buried here. She was born Sept 5, 1901 in Fulton County, Pa. She died Jan 17, 1972 at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md.
Her obit is on the same page at the BCGS Obit books as Lola Grace Yost.
How does this square with the Gertrude Logan? Good question. More research needed.
