The call time for the Domes over Donner westbound return trip was 10:10 AM, though it could be adjusted by Julie.  The Union Pacific crew arrived to begin the switching process for us to become a part ot the westbound California Zephyr.  Eventually the CZ arrived and the Domes Over Donner PV's were positioned at the stern end of the CZ.  The switchlady was genuinely funny when she asked me if I had taken any photographs which included her posterior.  Ya know, I was not sure, so I checked.  In deference to her, these are her better working shots.  Very nice chatting with you by the way.

The railroad maintains a nice yard office building.  Bill Parks told me that the Southern Pacific Railroad had a major complex at Sparks.  Lots of trackage has disappeared with asphalt parking in its place.  Indeed, several nearby red brick buildings (over conductors heads in above left photo) belied their former use.  The are now used as storage and industrial units.

Finally we were off. to pick up the large crowd at Reno.

Domes over Donner passengers approach knowing of the first class train ride to California.  Curiously absent was Chelsea from the eastbound train.

The Reno Amtrak Station is now below street level.  Gabbahhh Reno!
