The train was run into Los Angeles Union Station for a short layover, long enought to run over to Starbucks and check out the scenery.  Union Station is quite a busy place with Amtrak long distance trains, Metrolink commuter trains and underground, the Metro Red Line.   After the layover at Los Angeles Union Station, the special "Trucker-on-the-train" left for an exercise on the Union Pacific Railroad with the destination being City of Industry.

For the first time ever, I really wanted off of a train.  I had gotten up early to take public transit to Santa Fe Springs and still had to, somehow, get back over the hill to my home.  It was at this time that I asked Jesus Ojeda if we were still neighbors within 10 miles.  He replied "yes" and that he was staying until the end of the event.  I couldn't wait that long and he suggested that Phil Glenn of La Mirada Ham Watch might be going my way.  We made that arrangement and soon I was on my way towards Santa Fe Springs where I caught the Metro Bus 62 to Hawaiian Gardens near my home.

The "Trucker-on-a-Train" event was a successful first time gathering of parties interested in getting a clear concise message out to a targeted audience and the public.

Thanks to Metrolink, BNSF Railway, Union Pacific, and Amtrak for the opportunity to be part of the first "Trucker-on-a-Train" event.
