Southern California Chapter Railway and Locomotive Historical Society
The history of railways and their equipment in Southern California
is of particular interest to our chapter. Railways turned the sleepy adobes
of the south land into meccas for tourists, fruit growers and the new film
industry at the turn of the 20th Century. They opened an arid landscape
without navigable waters to development. We hope to present articles
about these railways and how they shaped our area of the country in the
near future.
If you would like to contribute a story or photographs, please contact us at the Depot address or telephone. All contributions are welcome and we will arrange to reproduce your material in digital format for publication at this web site if you do not have a computer or scanner.
