Parkton [../pix/maps/map-parktondetail.jpg] [sat-parktondetail.jpg] At its north terminus, the RS&N railroad curves into the town of Parkton and meets with the CSX mainline. There was a wye here years ago. If you look closely at the satellite photo, you can see its former location.

Academy
[../pix/maps/map-collegedetail.jpg] [../pix/sats/sat-collegedetail.jpg] This historic academy is in the northeast part of Red Springs. It is visible in the bottom of the photo. Its gardens are adjacent to the railroad.
Red Springs [../pix/maps/map-redspringsdetail.jpg] [../pix/sats/sat-redspringsdetail.jpg] Two long sidings remain in the town of Red Springs. Freight cars are visible on the sidings in this 1993 photo. The owner of the property under the sidings (a former lumber yard) generously allows us to set-on here.
. . . The railroad's southern terminus is just southwest of the town of Red Springs.
