History:
Line north of Willits opened by Northwestern Pacific in 1907, owned jointly by SP and ATSF.
Merged with Eureka & Klamath Railroad in 1914.
SP bought out ATSF's half in 1929.
SP sold portion of line north of Willits to EUKA in 1984.
Arcata & Mad River RR acquired from Simpson Timber by EUKA in September 1988.
EUKA went bankrupt and assets sold to North Coast Rail Authority in April 1992.
