History:
Lines acquired from UP in November 1993.
Weiser - Rubicon line abandoned in 1995.
Line between Emmett and Nampa abandoned in 1995.
Last train to Joseph operated on March 26, 1996. Line closed by slides and washouts.
Abandonment of Elgin - Joseph line approved on March 3, 1998.
Commenced lease of former UP Caldwell - Wilder and Hillcrest - Nampa lines on March 1, 1999. Lines sold to Watco 2009.
In November 2003, Wallowa-Union Railroad Authority acquired rights to operate between Elgin and Joseph, OR.
On October 7, 2004, 5 miles of track at Cascade (mp 94.68 to mp 99.68) leased to Idaho & Sedalia Transportation. Last train to Cascade in 2001.
Last train on Thunder Mountain line (Cascaded - Horshoe Bend) was in 2015.
