History:: Line built by Vancouver, Klickitat & Yakima Railroad starting in 1888.; Became Portland, Vancouver & Yakima Railroad in 1898.; Taken over by Northern Pacific in 1903.; NP sold the line to Longview, Portland & Northern Railway in 1960.; LPN sold the line to Chelatchie Prairie Railroad in 1981.; Service on the line discontinued in 1984.; Abandonment of the line was authorized on August 29, 1985.; Line purchased by Clark County in 1987, and line operated by LINC.; The Battle Ground, Yacolt & Chelatchie Prairie Railroad (BYCX) leased Battle Ground to Chelatchie (19 miles), where they began excursions in 2001.; Clark County announced on November 13, 2003 that the Columbia Basin Railroad would be the new operator of the line effective January 2004.
