History:
Incorporated in 1912 as Pacific Great Eastern Railway to take over the operations of the Howe Sound & Northern Railway.
North Vancouver - Whytecliff line completed in 1914, (and disused from 1928 until the 1950's).
Railway taken over by provincial government in 1918.
Line between Squamish and Prince George completed in 1952.
Line between North Vancouver and Squamish completed in 1956.
Name changed to British Columbia Railway on April 1, 1972.
