Railfan Pictures of the Week - 12/23/2018

Amtrak Northeast Corridor Eddington Station Bensalem PA December 21 2018

A trip out to the rainy NEC for lunch on the shortest day of the year bagged a few goodies. Upon arrival I found the light power of CSAO WPFJ-10 in the form of GP40-2 CSX 6157 waiting patiently on the Eddington Siding as the SEPTA local to Trenton passes.
A few minutes later, The Pennsylvanian Train 43 passes, its pantograph leaving a trail of mist from the catenary.
Shortly after, a tardy Silver Meteor Train 98 roars past.
Finally, WPFJ-10 gets the ok to run back to Holmesburg Junction on Track 1.
Now it was time for the Acelas, first 2160 ...
and 2117.
In between the Acelas ran SEPTA's inbound local. SEPTA used to be meticulous when it came to pantograph direction, always on the north end of the car if you saw them on the NEC, but lately cars facing the "wrong direction" like the third in this consist can be found in everyday operation.
ACS-64 AMTK 630 pulls a train full of hungry snowbirds on the Silver Starvation Train 91.
The last train of the lunch turned out to be the most interesting. The normal arrangement for a Keystone train like Train 648 is an ACS-64 on one end and a cab car on the other (last shot here). More recently I spotted a Keystone with ACS-64's on both end sans cab car, and now this variation with ACS-64 AMTK 632 on one end ...
ACS-64 AMTK 633 coupled up to the cab car on the rear.
