Amtrak Northeast Corridor Torresdale, Cornwells Heights and Eddington Stations July 24 and 26 2019

Just east of Torresdale Station, Amtrak Northeast Regional Train 180 passes an inbound SEPTA push pull.
On the tail end of 180 was US Department of Transportation and Federal Railroad Administration High-Speed Research Vehicle DOTX 216. The car is former Metroliner coach PRR/PC 803 that was later converted to Amtrak cab car AMTK 9642 before becoming DOTX T-16 and then 216.
Up at Sunnyside Yard in NYC, the train was turned as 125 with ACS-64 AMTK 651 leading again at Cornwells Heights.

From the FRA website

"The DOTX216 is a converted Amtrak Metroliner coach equipped with a track geometry measurement system, a rail profile measuring system, a multi-car ride quality measuring system, and other state-of-the-art instrumentation for conducting railway research. DOTX216 is capable of making track measurements at speeds up to 165 mph and serves as a high-speed track research instrumentation platform for a variety of tests and research projects in the Office of Research and Development. DOTX216 is also used to support efforts undertaken by the FRA's Office of Safety."

The car made the same runs on Friday, here on 180 at Eddington.
Amtrak ACS-64 AMTK 612 was pulling duty on this day as it takes the east curve at Torresdale.
