Railfan Pictures of the Week - 11/07/2021 |
SEPTA West Trenton Line Jenkintown, Lower Makefield and Middletown PA November 5 and 6 2021 |
In anticipation of SEPTA preparing to replace the rail on Track 2 on the West Trenton Line from Neshaminy Falls to Iron, a rail train sits on the northbound layoff at Jenkintown. |
When I caught up with them the next morning, they had started bright and early and by 10:00 they were already south of Edgewood Road. |
The shadows were a little less of a problem by the time they passed Stoney Hill Road. SEPTA was maintaining service by single tracking from Wood to Iron, and it was a bit of a surprise to see a deadhead Bomber set heading to Trent. |
The light was much better at Heacock Road as a Silverliner V set passes. |
The CSX Trenton Line was busier, with 7 trains passing the rail train in about 5 hours. CSX Q403 was three of those trains: first the engines and four box cars ran from Trent to drop off at Woodbourne, then back light against their train at Trent, and now west one final time. |
Power for the train was genset SPAX 70 and ... |
SW1200 SPAX 52, looking all of her 67 years. |
