Railfan Pictures of the Week - 07/09/2023

An old friend showed up in Lansdale wearing new colors, and suddenly everyone was interested in getting a picture or two (or three or ten) of her. So here is my very first shot of what is now the triplet sibling to the Tiger Twins, former Canadian Pacific SD40-2 PN 5577, taken on May 24 2023.
Coming up on W230 from Warminster just days before, it got to stretch its legs on L160 with SD40-2W PN 5315 as they worked the cars on the siding at Schwab and Orvilla Roads.
The new coat of paint, barely a month old, is similar but not identical to the twins, but still is very agreeable compared to the CP Red that covered most of the unit since its arrival. Of course, 5577 was one of the three original engines used by the Pennsylvania Northeastern Railroad on the first day back in 2011.
After working up at Schwab, L160 shoved back to the yard with Cryo-Trans reefer CRYX 7047 named St. Joseph on the hind end. Note the balcony on the newer Cryo-Trans cars which provide better safety and visibility for the rider.
Now working the yard, time to get a few broad sides. One of the most notable differences are the stripes along the long hood: 5342 has three stripes, 5315 no stripes, 5577 has two.
