Railfan Pictures of the Week - 12/28/2025

April 15 2025 After waiting at Conte Luna for 2 hours, at 8:40 a very late CSX L042 finally got the signal from the dispatcher to come down to CP Ford on the NS Morrisville Line Connecting Track for a trip across the SEPTA Norristown Line to CP Elm and the Stony Creek Branch.

Unfortunately for the crew, PTC dropped just as they approached the signal, as usual, requiring the call to SEPTA dispatcher for permission to bypass PTC, which fortunately gave me time to climb up the retaining wall for a rails-eye view.

8:50 CSX L042 is back on the move and about to knock down CP Ford.

The next time I saw L042 was at 9:30 at the east crossing of North Wales Road.

Next at the North Wales Road overpass at 9:45. Since they are at least 15 minutes from Dale, there was no way they would make it into Lansdale before the crew ran out of time at 10:00, which would require them to park it on the Stony Creek.

But as luck would have it, a U042 crew had already been called and jitneyed to West Point to take it from there.

So at 10:11 the L042 train with the U042 crew rolled in. This was just the start of the U042 crew's day, more to come.
