West Allis (WI), Mt. Horeb (WI), and Cedarburg (WI)  

I thought I'd do something a little different and compare Dan's recent Vintage Depot Photos of West Allis (WI), Mt. Horeb (WI), and Cedarburg (WI) with those I took during the mid-1970's.

Not sure of the present status of Cedarburg, but of course both West Allis and Mt. Horeb are long gone with the roadbed through Mt. Horeb now the bike trail.

Having grown up in West Allis before moving to Madison in the late 1960's we used to drive by the C&NW depot, located near 83rd and National, on a regular basis. I also recall sometime during the late 1950's taking my grandparents, who lived in Huron, South Dakota, to this station to catch the train home. Presumably they took one of the C&NW locals to Madison and then connected with the Dakota 400 for the trip to Huron.
