I shot these tests with the X10 color camera that sells for about $80.
I used my Sony camera to capture and digitize the video images. These
little cameras need lots of light. They also are a bit fuzzy up close.
For this test the loco was about 7 inches from the camera. I got one view
with no diopter and then one with +1, +2, +3, and +4. In my opinion
the +1 gave the best balence between close focus and overall sharpness.
The actual video output looks better then these images would convey.
These images are a cropped section of a digitized screen capture. To power this test I used two 7.2v Sony camera batteries. The camera runs on 12v dc at less than 80mA. |
