Pikes Peak Cog Railway - Great Plains Rail Gallery
  Pikes Peak Cog Railway

A mountain cog railroad isn't exactly something you'd find in a plains rail gallery, but this little engine, on display at Manitou Springs at the foot of Pikes Peak is too interesting to be overlooked. You can see that the boilers are inclined on the engine, to keep the boiler level while going up and down the mountain.  The only level places along the route are at the stations (top and bottom of mountain).
