Roger Sears reminded members that several club owned modules required routine repairs including minor plaster chips, paint touchups and replacing track ends adjacent to where joiner tracks attach. Roger also suggested some modification of scenery on club modules be undertaken to add variety to the club’s layouts.
Robert Cruse relayed an invitation from the Carolina Coastal Railroaders to attend their 11th Annual Train Show at New Bern High School in New Bern NC 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM March 11 and 10:00 AM to 4:00PM March 12, 2006 Carolina Coastal Railroaders site
There was concern about the variety of connector track lengths required when erecting an N-Trak layout. A proposal was made to substitute an assembly including the telescoping Kato 20-050 expansion track for the standard 4 15/16 non-roadbed sectional track. The proposal was tabled pending further consideration that such a substitution would require removal of the existing cork roadbed, possibly some removal of underlying plywood and the expense of all those Kato expansion tracks.
There was a further proposal to discontinue sliding joiners onto module tracks, as sliding them onto the joiner tracks would contribute to less damage to the tracks attached to the modules.
The acquisition of additional re-railer sections for N-Trak joiner tracks was also proposed.
