LED Crossing Signals

Modern crossing signals are 12 inches in diameter - vs. 8 3/8 inches in older signals - and have aspects composed of a cluster of red light emitting diodes.  This eliminates the reflector and greatly reduces maintenance do to the greatly increased life of the LED over that of a normal signal bulb.  LED aspects are also commonly found in modern traffic signals.
