Day in North America - October 16, 2004

Saturday, October 16 was the date of CTC Board Magazine's "Day in North America" - 2004. "Day in North America", held on a different date each year, is a day scheduled in advance and specially designated for rail photographers throughout North America to photograph trains and rail operations, and then submit them for a special issue of the magazine. I spent part of that day along the BNSF Red River Valley Subdivision (former Fort Worth & Denver) between Vernon and Memphis in north Texas. (See photos below.)

In between the sunrise photos at Quanah, and the sunset photos at Vernon, I spent the middle of the day in southwestern Oklahoma on Farmrail's former KCM&O (Kansas City, Mexico & Orient), photographing the Quartz Mountain Flyer excursion train.
