Accessing Maps & Membership List

This page gives you instructions for accessing the Susquehanna S Gaugers maps and membership list.
The page is for MEMBERS ONLY; thus a password is required

A. Accessing The Maps & Membership List

An online version of the maps & membership list is kept in the "files" directory of the Susquehanna S Gaugers Yahoo Group.

1-- Click here to open the "files" directory.
(For reference, it's at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SsgPrivate/files,
in the Yahoo Group at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SsgPrivate )

2-- A box should pop up, asking for your username and password.
Yahoo ID ______________
Password _______________

3--Enter the Yahoo ID / password that you have been provided.

Security

If you're using any sort of public computer, such as in a library, make sure that the "remember my ID on this computer" box (or anything similar) is NOT checked.

4--You should see files with a name something similar to "anderman.d.pdf " and "lukens.a3.pdf ".
(The exact name will depend on the version.)

5-- You should be able to open these PDF files and view or print them, using the free Adobe Reader (see Section C below for details).

6-- Membership List: The membership list is in the same directory as the maps; it should be near the top. The membership list contains members' names & their wives' names, plus phone numbers and addresses.

Signing Out When Finished

7-- If you're using a computer used by other people, make sure you click on the "sign out" link, located near the upper left corner of the window.

B. Comments About The Yahoo ID

This process we have set up, where we "loan" you a Yahoo ID, is a somewhat "shakey" security practice, because we are allowing you to use one of my Yahoo IDs. But since many of you don't have Yahoo IDs, this seems to be the easiest way to handle this.

If you have your own Yahoo ID, we can arrange it so you can use your own Yahoo ID to log in, and not have to remember another one.

C. Viewing PDF Files With Adobe Reader

We provide the membership list as a PDF file.
A PDF file will usually give you a "sharper" printout than a JPEG version.

The PDF file should open in Adobe Reader when you double click on the filename.

But in some cases it may not. Then you may have to download the file to your hard drive, then start Adobe Reader first ,
then use the "file" --> "open" command using Adobe Reader 's menus.

Obtaining Acrobat Reader:

If you do not already have the FREE application Adobe PDF Reader.
it is available at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html

You may already have it on your hard drive.

Look for "Adobe Reader".in your "programs" menu.
