The Southerner Express
has travelled between Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill Daily for over 30
years and now this important part of the South Island Railway
Network is no longer with us. The Southerner ran for the
final time on Sunday 10th February 2002.
This page and the pages that follow are dedicated to the
memories of the train, the train staff and the passengers who rode on on The
Southerner throughout it's 30 years on the tracks
This website is a reminder of the train we
have grown to love and the line it runs on. This is a tribute to
our railway, our train, OUR SOUTHERNER!!!
