Notes from the Desk of the Superintendent
This page is only accessible from the "Club News" page. I did this for a few reasons, mainly because most folks are just looking around at the pictures and such and don't need to be in on the more intimate details of what is going on. Another is that there are a lot of pages to update and I didn't want to chance messing up any more pages than necessary.

Formen:
Your Annual Reports are due. I have a thought on this, if you have to agonize over what was done, then the short list is either nothing, or not enough. I'm not trying to be overly critical, (I know that we are all busy) but there are two formen I know of that are able to rattle off a number of items that have been going on or that are going to be going on... you know who you are. If this is not you, then let's get moving. We have a lot of new members that are ready, willing and able to work. I don't believe that any of them are master modellers, but then again, neither are any of us.

Members:
Ok, now on to the main body of folks...

We have a new checklist for closing up shop (See Below). One for opening up shop will follow shortly.
I would like to congratulate EVERYONE that worked the Train Show & Club. Jim Kurtz & his wife worked the Club's Sales Table again this year, thank you both for your continued efforts at the shows. Of course, Jim's wife helps in order to keep an eye on his spending during this very tempting buying opportunity.
We gained at least one new member, Ron Keck (Welcome!), as a result of our participation in this show. We also need to have better participation at the shows. For instance, if you have worked at the club for the last few years, consider pulling door duty (etc) at the shows and let someone else "play trains". It is only fair, after all, voluntary rotations would be more enjoyable and thus more beneficial than manditory rotations.
Also, we need to keep the Club House clean at all times. Visitors arrive unexpectedly, because of this website and our fliers at Discount Model Trains, all the time. As a general rule, be on the look out for cobwebs (there is a doozy of one in the city).
Check the bulletin board for Clean-up duty schedules. Just like at home, picking up after yourself will make the job of clean-up easier.
