Tomytec and Other N-Gauge Traction Chassis Dimensions

This is a listing of Tomytec and other power chassis. They are useful for powering not only the rolling stock for which they were intended, but other trolleys, trams, railcars and various "critters" that are scratchbuilt or sold as shells. Their various basic dimensions in millimeters are provided to aid modelers in determining the most suitable power chassis for their needs.

Note: In the "Pickup Wheels" column, a "1" indicates that the other wheel on the axle has a traction tire.

TOMYTEC Made to add power to various Tomytec Tetsudou "Railway Collection" series static display cars. Wheel diameter is 5.6 mm.

BACHMANN These are sold as part of complete cars. Listed because they are common and inexpensive. Wheel diameter is 5.6 mm. Note: The early white axle gears split; use only later chassis with black axle gears. Note: Bachmann started blackening the wheels by 2010.
