Mr. Jimmy Workman sent the information about Burlington, NC station.

Thanks, Mr. Jimmy Workman.

The new station is the former "Round House" for the "North Carolina Railroad".  The town now called Burlington grew up around the round house and other maintenance facilities of the "North Carolina Railroad".  The town was originally called "Company Shops".  The name was changed when the railroad was leased to the "Southern Railroad" and the maintenance shops were moved to Spencer, NC. Link to the website about the "new" station: http://www.whistlestopncrr.com

The old Southern Railroad station was moved to its current site when the road was relocated back in the 70's or 80's.  It used to be on the diagonal opposite corner of the intersection of Main St and the railroad tracks from the Round House (current station).  The road current runs where the station used to sit.  The road used to run where the caboose now sits on the track side of the old station.
