Sevier Railway

SEVIER RY



The Sevier Railway, which ran from Thistle south to Marysvale was incorporated in 1880 as a RGW paper company. It was never a railroad as such. The line from Thistle south to Manti was built as narrow gauge and standard gauged in July of 1891. The Sevier Railway become the Marysvale branch of the D&RGW in 1908. The branch was abondanded after the famous Thistle Slide in 1983.
