Valley HO Trak was formed in 1987 as an offshoot of the Valley N Trak. We are a non-profit organization of HO scale model railroaders promoting the modular layout concept as a viable operating system. This concept is based upon individual units which are connected together to form a layout. The basic module measures two feet wide by four feet long. This allows for ease of transportation in most automobiles. Each module has two mainline tracks leaving room for industrial sidings and scenery. Scenery is whatever your imagination comes up with to create your own miniature world.

Informal membership meetings are held monthly throughout the year in round-robin style in member's homes. Our present membership hails from South Central Connecticut and the Naugatuck Valley areas. Members ages range from early teens to seniors. In addition there are father/son and husband/wife teams. Membership is open to all who wish to be in the HO scale model railroading. Basic requirements are to enjoy trains (and have an operating module in accordance with HO Trak specifications within one year of joining).

We display at an average of eight model train shows per year (September-May) consisting of shows that raise money to benefit schools, churches, clubs, etc. Ho Trak layouts vary in size from 12' X 16' to 20' X 40'. Our largest display is at the "Big Railroad Hobby Show" sponsored by the Amherst Railway Society and held at the Eastern States Exposition (big E) grounds in West Springfield, MA each February.
