San Joaquin, October 1, 2012 A big rig collided with an Amtrak train the San Joaquin bound for Bakersfield Monday at a rural crossing in Kings County, injuring at least 40 passengers and stranding scores more in an alfalfa field south of Hanford. The force of the collision knocked two double-deck cars off the tracks along with the engine that was pushing them, leaving passengers to grip tables and seats as the cars toppled.
