Effective March 1, 2008, VCLS will no longer be in operation at our facility in Fillmore, CA. The City of Fillmore, owner of the property, has scheduled the start of construction of farm-worker housing for Spring, 2008. VCLS is looking for a new location to run 1-1/2 inch scale live steam trains. Keep checking this site; we will keep you posted.

Ventura County Live Steamers, Inc. was established in 1997 as an all volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation of the nation’s railroads rich mechanical engineering heritage. We are incorporated as a California non-profit public benefits corporation with 501c3 IRS charity status.

Our purpose is to further the avocation of live steam railroad construction and operation for educational purposes and to provide recreational activities for physically/mentally challenged children of Ventura County, CA.

We are a group of people who love trains and enjoy spreading that love around to whomever would like to ride, run, build, learn about, or listen to trains, engines, and railroad history. A few members own locomotives and/or cars. Many members do not, however, VCLS owns some and is working on providing more locomotives and cars for members to use and the public to enjoy.

Please come out and participate; be a part of this growing organization and this wonderful hobby.
