| One solution to Amtrak's equipment problem was to lease off-the-shelf trains from ANF-Frangeco of France. At first there were two sets, with four more added soon after. These turbo-powered trains were placed on corridors out of Chicago, seeing service to Detroit, Milwaukee, and St. Louis. Some of these trains have been heavily rebuilt and continue in New York service along with new Rohr sets. #59, Niles MI, April 1975. | ![]() | #60, Chicago, March 1977. | ![]() |
