BNSF, or "Big New Santa Fe"
BNSF was the result of a 1995 merger between Burlington Northern and Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe. At first it used the name Burlington Northern Santa Fe, but switched to its initials in 2005. The new road used several predecessor schemes as it repainted equipment, in addition to several experimental schemes, apparently settling on a re-work of the old Great Northern scheme.
